Project Challenge

Objective

The client, a Melbourne-based real estate company, aimed to expand into the home renovation market under a new sub-brand, EPLUS Renovation.

The challenges were multifaceted: they required a modern, scalable website with a CMS that would allow their internal team to upload and manage project portfolios independently. Additionally, the website needed to support seamless payment gateway integration and offer a fully bilingual experience (English and Chinese) to cater to both local and international audiences. The design also had to be optimized to showcase hundreds of renovation case studies in an engaging and easily navigable format.

The Research

Objective

Our team began by conducting stakeholder interviews to understand the specific needs of both the real estate and renovation segments of the business. We analyzed competitor websites in the property and renovation space to identify common design patterns, user expectations, and SEO opportunities.

User personas were developed to represent the company’s primary audiences—homeowners looking for renovation inspiration, and potential customers exploring service offerings. This helped us prioritize features such as intuitive navigation, multilingual support, and visually rich project showcases. Additionally, technical research was done to evaluate the best CMS platforms for content flexibility, ease of use, and multilingual support.

We adopted a user-first design philosophy, focusing on clarity, visual impact, and responsiveness across devices. The layout was structured to guide users effortlessly from homepage to project listings, service information, and detailed case studies.

For EPLUS Renovation’s branding, we employed a modern and professional aesthetic with clean typography and a minimal color palette to let the visuals of renovation projects stand out. Special attention was given to multilingual UX—ensuring seamless switching between English and Chinese with consistent design integrity. Wireframes and interactive prototypes were tested with stakeholders to refine user journeys before moving into development.
